Idle Thoughts

charliesmumSo you know how in some genre movies - post-apocalyptic or maybe some sort of monster thing - they may do some establishing shots of something innocuous but somehow disturbing that offers a hint of what's to come?
The only example I can think of off the top of my head is in Lost Boys when the back of the 'Welcome to Santa Clara' sign there was graffiti reading 'Murder Capitol of the World.'
Anyway, I was in Philly the other day, near 8th and Market which is, for the uninitiated part of Center City but not necessarily the nicest part of town. Which is odd because you go a few streets over and you get Society Hill, which is Exactly What it Says on the Tin.
Anyway...I was on Market Street and there was this telephone pole on which was graffiti'd the words 'A new face in hell'.
It seemed oddly poetic, if boding, to me. I couldn't help but wonder what movie I'd stumbled into.
