ETA: here it is. December 14, 2005 is when I joined the Company.

I was just going through my posts in 2005 for reasons I will explain in a moment, and I cam across a post from November where I'm talking about the new Harry Potter movie (Goblet of Fire). I said this: I can't wait to see how many suethor stories featuring the sadly misunderstood Barty Crouch Jr are going to pop up because that actor? Was pretty handsome.

And as we all know that actor was none other than David Tennant.

Well, it made me giggle.

The reason I was looking through my November posts of 2005, was I was trying to see if I ever mentioned joining the Collingswood Shakespeare Company. I was looking for that because I wanted to announce that I've just quit said company, along with a majority of other people, because we were sick of the stupid that was being perpetrated on an almost daily basis by the so-called President of the Trustee Board.

Would you like an example of some of the asshattery? Last Autumn, she basically stole $200 from the Quaker Friends. We had done one weekend of shows there, as we've been doing, where they let us the place for free, and we give them half the house, which goes right to their educational programmes. Unfortunately that show in question didn't do too well, and her bad spending habits meant that the show was losing money, so she decided that Friends didn't deserve half the house.

So...yeah.

It's a bit sad, because it is the end of an era, but we're well out of it, and we have a 'revolutionary board' set up that is already planning on a new, better company.

Ironically (Possibly. I'm a bit of an Alanis when it comes to that) This show we just finished was by far the best one we've ever done, and we had record houses. We made a ridiculous amount of money for the CSC and now we're not going to be able to reap the benefits of it.

But we're free from the tyranny, and that's the important thing.

And what will be nice is when people come to any of their future productions and ask, "Where are those really good actors? And where's that awesome band?"

I'm still going to be the Cassandra and warn that it's not going to be a road strewn with roses. But hopefully we won't hamstring or sabotage each other and at least all our meetings will have Beer.

He He He , well I do have to confess something. A couple who has come to many of our productions asked me yesterday what was our next production was to which I replied The Merry Wives of Windsor and Two Noble Kinsmen :) To reply to Pairika the only reason it will not be a road strewn with roses is if we chose NOT to make it so. Yes ,not everyone will agree on everything BUT I WILL be Cassandra and say that with the people we NOW have on our board I don't foresee any major problems as all of us are working together for one purpose!!!
