Still not blocked at work. Yay. Hopefully no one will notice.

Charlie's 14th birthday is coming up in a month. He wants to start planning his party, but he's gotten as far as the people he wants to invite and that's it. He wants to invite the three girls he's been hanging out with, my BFF's two kids (a boy (his BFF) and a girl (She's 15) his BFF from school, my other friend's son, and his BFF's school BFF, who invited Charlie to his Bar Mitzvah.

What do you do with a bunch of co-ed 13, 14, and 15 year olds? I can't remember what I did for my 14th birthday.

My problem is I have very little space in my flat to entertain, I don't want to spend ridiculous amounts of money, and they are all too old for things like 'Dinner at the Pop Shop' or a game place.

Any suggestions?

Have a Pool Party at Roberts Pool - I've seen a lot of kids have pool parties there.

I'm considering that. It's a bit on the pricy side, and if it rains I'm screwed, I do have that on the list of possibilities, though.

Movie and Burger King (or equivalent) worked for my daughter. I bought tickets, popcorn, and soda, the kids were responsible for their own snacks other than that.

I'm probably not the one to ask. I didn't have a 14th birthday party, but a Halloween Bonfire instead that year. Yep, goth girl had her birthday party a month early on Halloween. We had the bonfire and everyone had to dress up to come. And things like chips and dip, cupcakes and pizzas for snacks.

When I was that age it was usually party food, cake, and a DVD/movie.
