Good morning.

I've been going back through my old LJ posts, just 'cause, and it's amazing how much MORE I used to post. I feel sad about it really, but since my work blocked it (again) I just don't seem to be on as much. And of course Facebook has Borged most of us, too.

Still, I will always love LJ, because, well, this place was there when I needed it. As were all of you wonderful people on my flist.

It's funny reading through my old posts and then stumbling on a picture of Charlie, too. He was so little! He's 5 foot 7 now. That's TALL. And his voice is all deep.

Socially, however, he's a bit behind. It's okay, I know, and he'll get there. I worry about him, especially since we're going to a whole new school next year where they haven't known him his whole life, but he's excited about it, and I think he will be okay. At any rate, I'm trying not to obsess until I have to.

There's a family who lives across from Dave the Fiance's house, and they have a son Charlie's exact age, and we were able to introduce them yesterday. He seems like a good kid, and I do hope he and Charlie become friendly enough that Charlie at least has someone familar when he starts the school.

Actually he seems like a really good kid. His parents are really nice, and when the father brought the kid out to meet Charlie, the kid was all smiles, and seemed really willing to reach out to Charlie. And Charlie's happy because they are both 'gamers'. So fingers crossed.

I went into a comic shop near Dave's house yesterday to find out when the Doctor Who/Star Trek book is coming out (May 30th) and discovered the shop actually sells Doctor Who toys! (er...collectibles) So yay for that.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, and enjoyed Passover or Easter or whatever might have been celebrated. Today is a great day, because it is Half-Price Chocolate day!

Finally, for anyone who cares, wedding plans are continuing apace. I found a hairdresser who can actually come to the winery to do me up, so yay, and, except for the final count for the caterer, everything is pretty much in place. (have to pick a type of cake, but am going to do that after I know how many people are coming, and also decided it is not going to be fancy.)

Tell me about you, flist. Give me one good thing that happened this weekend.

I went back and read a few articles on my OLD lj. It was sad how much interaction there was and now barely a blip. It was nice to have the day off yesterday. Oh yes.

I got to spend Easter weekend with one (of my 3 grown-up) children including buying him, and helping to eat, a yummilcious Fairtrade chocolate egg!

I gave up on LJ a little while ago, but I do still read my friends' entries, including yours. I'm glad you still post. :)

We took Ariella to Easter brunch and I had the most delicious pancakes.

That's terrific that Charlie's got a potential gamer buddy right nearby. Hope that friendship works out!

One good thing from the weekend: Home Saturday night for Passover - although probably spent more time on the bus to and from campus Saturday and Sunday than actual waking hours at home, it was worth it to be there with family (and an abundance of wonderful cooking!)

I finished a couple pieces of music! Also, I watched Simon Amstell's attempted intervention on Amy Winehouse on Buzzcocks, and I could not fault him for it.
