I got offered a role in the play!

I got offered the role of 'Muriel' who is kind of the battleaxe character - she's described as a 'sherman tank' at one point, so as far as body image/looks issues, it makes me a bit paranoid, LOL. But I think I got the role because I 'got' the character right away. I invision a sort of 'Miss Piggy' kind of character, although the director said Miss Gulch, which, again, ouch. At any rate, she's sort of an unfeminine type of character which is new, since my old director seemed to only want to give me the girly roles.

So, I'm acting again, which is weird, as I really didn't expect to be. Is a good thing. Hopefully I'll make a friend or two.

You shouldn't "Ben" yourself about the role too much. It's acting and you're not a type; it's not a statement on you personally, you're just playing a role. :)
