It's amazing how you notice things once you know what's happened.

In the 2nd chapter, Bellatrix says on page 34 (UK Adult version)that the Dark Lord has, in the past, entrusted me with his most precious...if Lucius hadn't... then Narcissa interrupts. My guess is that Bellatrix has, or at least knows where one of the Horcruxes is. Which would make sense because Harry is probably going to have to face and kill her, somehow. You know, avenging deaths and so forth. Unless Neville does it.

And also, in the first potions lesson, when it is described what he is smelling from the love potion, it says there's a flowery smell, and then later, when Ginny shows up, he smells it again. Which I thought was a cute and subtly way to begin to show Harry has a thing for Ginny. Plus, he keeps asking her to come with them. Ginny rocks.

Right. Off to go buy a birthday present now.

Later!

Oh, ps. I had my first icon made based on something I'd written. From my latest [livejournal.com profile] deleterius post. I'm so proud.

I loved that Ginny-smell thing. I noticed it on my second read - I was reading it aloud to my sister and squeed silently, as I didn't want to give anything away! I hadn't noticed the Bellatrix thing... ooer!

Can we see the icon, then, oh famous deleterian?? :-)

Which immediately made me think that Ginny was using a love potion on Harry...maybe in the form of a perfume. That's probably not what was intended, but that was the impression I got.

That was my first thought too! I thougt about the twins and their shop, and wondered if she had bought one of those little potions that they were selling.

I still haven't ruled out that possibility.

*squints real hard* I can't read what's in the middle of the circle. "And Sue ... something"? Actually, what I see is "And Sue-intested," but I can't make sense of that. But congratulations, I'm impressed anyway! Can you put a link to the [livejournal.com profile] deleterius entry? I've been taking a break from them to clear my mind for canon. Do you suppose there will be a march of Sues finding Horcruxes (or being Horcruxes) right and left? Or perhaps that's already started...

I noticed the flowery smell on first read (rare for me!) and wondered whether it meant that Ginny was carrying a love potion around, or if it showed Harry found something about Ginny attractive. By the end, I decided it was the latter.

Yeah, it is hard to read, but it is the first icon based on something I've said, so yay. There've been icons based on things other people said in my post, but this is my first 'direct quote' so to speak.

It is silly, the amount of little things that make me happy.

Right, I don't think Ginny has a love potion - the love potion in the room is supposed to make you think about things you like the most, and I think it is JKR's subtle way of pointing out Harry is developing feelings for Ginny, and doesn't realise it yet.

Spoilers in it for HBP, but you wouldn't be reading this post if you hadn't read HBP so we're good.

Ahhh, Sue-infested. I get it now, and yes, quite icon-worthy!

I liked the book too. I have a lot of wild ideas on how the seventh one is goig to turn out. Link to the Deleterius post?

I've no ideas about the 7th book. Hopefully Harry will get some clues from Dumbledore as to were to start looking for the Horcruxes, otherwise he'll just be wandering around asking random people 'excuse me, have you seen any strange and eldritch things lurking around that look like they might have a bit of soul in them? No. Sorry to have troubled you.'

The more I think about it the more I'm convinced Bellatrix has a horcrux, because she's shown up an awfully lot, and I think Neville deserves a chance to avenge his parents. At the very least, I think Harry will need to confront her about Sirius. And I think Remus ought to be able to get rid of the werewolf that bit him. And also, Peter.

And the supid veil better come into play or I will be irate.
