British Airways is having a sale. London from $140 one way. If I booked a ticket right this minute for Charlie and me, and left on Monday the 26th, it would cost me $ 984.36. That, of course doesn't include things like a place to stay or any money for food or any way to travel once I'd gotten there, and I don't have that kind of money anyway but still...good price.

Some day. *sighs dreamily*

Stupid bloody husband kept me up all night with the snoring and lolling about in the bed so I had about 3 inches of bed to myself. He's home again today, too. I love him and all but sometimes I want to give him a smack. :)

Yesterday was 'back to school' night, and I must say I am extremely pleased with Charlie's new teacher. Her name is Miss Gross* and she is doing an amazing job thus far. She has some excellent things in place as far as positive reinforcement - she is a big believer in giving children a choice; or rather making them feel like they have a choice, and she seems to reward positive behavior much more frequently than punishing for bad behavior, which is a good thing.

I had a dream last night about Lost. (the rare moments I actually was asleep) I tend to dream about it rather frequently which is odd, as it isn't my biggest obsession or anything. I wish I could remember details - it was very strange, and Boone was in it, as was Locke, and I was finding clues, but about what I have no idea.

I didn't watch the President's speech last night, I decided that the repeat of the pilot of WB's new show Supernatural would be less scary. Not a horrible show, but, as it is usually on opposite House, I'm not going to worry about missing it. The guy who was Dean on Gilmore Girls is now playing a guy called Sam who has a brother called Dean, and that's just a little bit confusing.

And finally, many of you are already aware of this, as our friends list tends to overlap but for those who aren't, [livejournal.com profile] slammerkinbabe is reaching internet notoriety that she didn't expect from a very eloquent and emotional post about the disturbing plot arc in The Wedding Crashers. She was upset, wrote about it, people responded, someone metaquoted, more people responded, and it has now spun off into the ethernet with a life of it's own. It is very interesting, and I get to say 'I knew her before she was famous!' (Plus I was the first person to comment on that post, so there.)

Right. Must go to the mail box now.

*Always amusing when a teacher has such a Dickensian name, but there you go

140$ ???? No way!
I remember when we needed it, it cost 469$, one way (and we're closer...)
But you don't want to go to UK now. It's cold and rainy, I bet.

I'm glad to hear Charlie has a good teacher. That makes all the difference

I don't think it's raining all that much really.

I don't know what it's like down South in London, but in the North West it's sunny. (And cold.)

And, uh, that was random and you probably didn't want to know. But I thought I'd share.

it was random, but I don't mind.
Just yesterday I got an email from a friend with a reminder of 'remember where we were exactly a year ago' (we were in Edinburgh) and it was sunny.

Yeah, it's been sunny quite a lot the past year. But it's always sunny and cold or warm and overcast which is annoying.

It's good, isn't it? I didn't make it, which would be why :D

as much as I'm feeling silly talking about the weather ..
warm and overcast is much better than hot and sunny :) (I would say about cold and overcast but I don't remember anymore)

Oh, I know. I was going to say 'I feel like I'm at the hairdressers' or something, but...I didn't.

Yeah - I can't spend lots of time in the sun, so warm and overcast is good.

Unfortunately, I don't get the opportunity to forget cold and overcast.

Ooh, London. Someday I want to go there. I have a friend that lives there, but still, I don't have the time and money right now. Maybe someday.

That's great that Charlie has such a good teacher this year. And what a name! I missed Supoernatural (it doesn't air at a good time for me), but I am looking forward to Invasion tonight. I'm such a alien show/movie geek.

Apparently they are going to re-playing Supernatural every Sunday, for those who miss it. Just FYI.

It was okay - I wasn't 100% paying attention, and had to change the channel when Charlie wandered into the room (when he was supposed to be in bed!) because it was a bit dark, but it has potential. Had some good humourous moments.

Bless your heart. Nothing sucks worse than a husband who is under the weather. They feel bad enough to just be a huge pain in the ass.

London... ::sigh::

I went there in the first week of March 2004, and it cost me $350 round trip. Also, I stayed at a friend's flat rather than a hotel, so it was extra-cheap. Best spring break ever.

London that would be amazing, there are so many places I 'd like to go but it is harder with kids. Would be amazing for them too though.

Now I'm intrigued and am going to read that essay.
