1. autism:
   Obvious one - My Charlie is Autistic, hence the interest
2. buddhism:
   Got interested in Buddhism a few years ago, took an 'on line course', and have been steadily getting more involved in it as I go along
3. classic literature:
   The secret of classic literature that no teacher will ever tell you is that it was written to be sold. Therefore the person doing the writing was less worried about creating symbolism in the crashing of the waves and more interested in telling a good story. All the rest can be made up as you go along.
4. england:
   I want to go there. I've been an 'Anglophile. pretty much as long as I can remember. Couldn't pin point exactly why, but England is my spiritual home.
5. harry potter:
   When I picked up the first book it was because it was a children's story, and I enjoy reading them, it took place in the UK (see above)and I like fantasy stories. Now, while I still enjoy all the above, I also enjoy the sense I part of literary history in some very small way.
6. jane austen:
   See Classic Literature. Also she seems like someone that would have been fun to hang out with.
7. joan of arcadia:
   This was a really good show. I'm sorry it was cancelled.
8. labyrinth:
   I had just finished my first year of college when this movie came out, and the underlying theme of growing up and not wanting to really resonated with me. Plus David Bowie in tight pants.
9. miss piggy:
   Can't exactly pinpoint the beginning of my love affair with Miss Piggy, but it was possibly around the same time Miss Piggy fever was sweeping the nation. At any rate, I enjoyed her character very much, and still do. Hi-ya!
10. neil gaiman:
    When I first met my husband, he was way into reading certain comic books. One story he was following was Sandman by Neil Gaiman. One day he brought a bunch of the things over to read, and, curious (and bored) I picked it up. I was hooked soon after. Neil is an amazing story teller with a lovely dark sense of humor and a story-telling voice that borders on the mythic. And thanks to him I discovered Terry Pratchett, so that's a bonus.

over at www.perezhilton.com boards, there's a thread where they have pictures of Miss Piggy and various other famous people in pretty much the same clothes, and you can choose who you think wore it best. Miss Piggy usually wins.

Anyway, I always think of you when I see it.

However, Brad Pitt did look pretty darn cute in that pink sequined number.

And no, it wasn't photoshopped.

You should read the Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. It's a very literary and fun book.

Secondly, yeah, I read Eyre Affair. Quite liked it. Read the 2nd one as well, didn't like it quite as much, but it was good. Haven't gotten the 3rd one yet.

^_^ Thanks, I like the icon too. Not sure why I add the gecko, but eeh.... I'm certain that there's some reason behind it. I'm thinking about making a series of autistic related icons.

I've just recently discovered the books and have been rabidly recomending them. I've read all four so far, and yes, the second one isn't as good as the first.
