It's Friday, and a lovely, cool, autumn day here in my part of the world. Charlie wore a new pair of long trousers, some sort of cargo thing with lots of pockets and, for some reason, some clip thing on a long piece of material clipped to the belt buckle. I'm mentioning this because Charlie is kind of skinny and it is freaking impossible to find pants that fit him. He's too tall for size 7, and too skinny for 8 regulars, and 8 slims are really hard to find, so it was only the addition of a belt that kept him from going for that whole 'gangsta, my undies are showing' look. But he looked cute.
We went to "The Pop Shop" again last night for ice cream. Charlie got a Root Beer Float and I had a Chocolate Malted milkshake that was so good it was practically orgasmic. Seriously. Had a nice chat with the owner woman, who recognized Charlie and me, and mentioned how we're 'regulars' already. Saw
elfmanfan doing her 'soda jerk' thing, and doing it quite well. So go her.
Speaking of
elfmanfan I'm sending her 'break a leg' vibes as she is auditioning for the school play today.
In other news, She who is awesome, aka
carlanime sent me so winegum candies and a box of Smarties! (yum, yum, yum!) Charlie loved the winegum things. Kept sneaking pieces when I wasn't looking. The Smarties are all mine, though.
Tomorrow my town is holding its Third Annual Book Festival. Am looking forward to it. Got to love a town that has a festival just for books, right?
Oh, and I'm getting my hair cut. Finally. Hurrah.

on 2005-09-30 10:51 pm (UTC)Thanks for the visit and the vibes! It's always great to see friendly faces in a crowded and tense room. And the vibes must have worked because the audition went really well, so I'm going to credit that to you.
I've been meaning to try the malted milkshakes. We don't get much call for those, strangely. Maybe I'll "screw up" an order and put malt in a milkshake that didn't call for it, because we get to keep and eat anything that we mess up. (Or, you know, I could just order one. But that would be too easy. And ethical.)

on 2005-09-30 11:33 pm (UTC)The Malted shake was seriously good. And they put some sugar thing on top - er, it was probably malted something - and it was TEH YUMMY.
Glad the audition went well. Fingers crossed!
