Dear Pat Robertson:

Dude. You say God may send a natural disaster to this Pennsylvania town because they voted out 'intellegent design'? Well, working by that argument allow me to point something out.
Florida was hit by Hurricane Wilma
Louisana and Mississippi were hit by Katrina
A tornado tore across western Kentucky and Indiana on November 6.
Each of these states were largely 'red' states. Meaning they voted for Bush.
If we're going by national disasters as an indication of God's mood*, then maybe he isn't too happy with Republicans. So maybe you should rethink that comment. Before a house falls on you.
*which, for the record, I totally don't believe. Start thinking that, the next thing you know we're tossing virgins into volcanos

on 2005-11-11 07:26 pm (UTC)He also says that they can't look to God for help now - 'cause God dropped manna from heaven on the dying Katrina victims, obviously. (Katrina actually did take out mostly Republican areas, as you point out.)

on 2005-11-11 07:43 pm (UTC)But seriously? Speaking as a Christian? Most of us have disowned him too. Please don't judge the rest of us by him. Please?

on 2005-11-11 08:33 pm (UTC)And I would never judge real Christians by this guy. He has no faith at all. He may think he does, but he doesn't.

on 2005-11-11 07:47 pm (UTC)But yay for them being sensible. ^^ And boo for Pat Robertson, who is clearly insane.

on 2005-11-11 07:50 pm (UTC)I mean, you'll notice that Massachusetts has been positively roiling from all those hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. And now that Maine has overwhelmingly reaffirmed the non-discrimnation act, well, tornadoes.
Oh, wait!

on 2005-11-11 10:23 pm (UTC)Took the language for 3 years in High School. Suck at it.
*cough* I took English as first language for eight years in school but I was so bad. I didn't like the language at all but I manage to barely pass my baccalaureate in English. Then in university, no more English. The dream hehehe. Until I discovered fanfictions 18 months ago. I had a hard time to read in English but I opened an LJ to improve my poor skill :) And well, my English is better than ever (even I still have a hard time with tenses and such) and I met lots of nice friends :)
And if you want a postcard or two from Paris, let me know (I think a good part of my flist got a postcard now -- feel free to e-mail me at my livejournal address).

on 2005-11-12 01:40 am (UTC)Agreed fully! I don't understand why people want to limit the power of God to how THEY think the world must have been created. If people can think of it, don't they think that God has already thought of it?
And we're trying to use limited human knowledge and understanding and brainpower to understand the universe anyway, but we try to act like our logic and reason-or lack of it-is final. Bah.
I don't understand how the Rape-publicans can go on about spiritual values when they don't obey two basic commandments: Thou Shall Not Bear False Witness and Thou Shall Not Steal.
