I'm at 39,285 words and I feel like I've hit a wall. I think I'm trying too hard to get to 40,000 tonight. It's frustrating, though. I'm writing like mad, and think I've gotten further than I did.

So, we went to look at dogs today, but my husband is pretty vehement about not getting one. Charlie had such fun, though.

The first dog he 'picked' was this really big Great Pyrenees Cute as anything, but way too high maintenance for me. Much grooming would be necessary. She was really cute, though.

However, the dog Charlie really fell for was Aimee.

At first, when she was out in the yard, she was too busy sniffing around and running around and barking happily at the other dogs to pay attention to Charlie, but he persevered, and eventually he was rewarded. He was sitting on this bench and she jumped on the bench next to him, licked his face, then jumped off. Pretty soon they were running up and down the yard together. There was this moment as I watched them that I couldn't help but think, 'There, this is it. The bonding moment.' Charlie was laughing and the dog was looking up at him, and it was a nice moment.

After we left, I called the husband and handed the phone to Charlie and he said, "We adopted Aimee." I had to assure him we didn't. We were just dreaming.

She's so sweet though. Sigh.

Well, we didn't adopt her, we were just thinking about it, and my husband is all putting his foot down against it. Sometimes I think he just wants to be convinced, but mostly he doesn't want a dog.

but she's so cute...

I thought of you when we were there, though. There were some beautiful cats. 'Course your cat is the most beautiful. :)

Oh, and Charlie would change her name to Alaska. That's his dog's name. Don't ask me why.

Aww, what a cute dog! I don't think he'd get along well with my cats, but he's cute.

We have had dogs who thought they were cats, though. It's amazing how well dogs assimilate to large colonies of cats.

Dogs are such wonderful companions for children!They are ALOT of work,but if fully grown,nowhere NEAR as much as a puppy is.I hope one day your hubby changes his mind!My son,when little,was terrified of dogs,so my husband brought home an 8 week old golden retriever ,and that was IT,no more fear.He is now 6 years old and my son Joe's best bud.His name is Cody,and here he is.A most handsome lad!
