Current Events
Jan. 26th, 2005 05:03 pmWhen I was in the fifth grade we would have to bring in a news clipping once a week and share with the class what it was about. It was hard trying to pick out something that everyone else wasn't going to pick out. I had a friend who brought in one of those 1 paragraph 'human interest' stories every single time. Current Events is why I remember the landmark case involving coma patient Anna Quinlan, whose family wanted to pull her plug. The hospital didn't want them to. They eventually won, pulled the plug and darned if the girl didn't continue breating without the respirator. She never did recover, though. It was drugs, in case anyone is wondering what put her in the coma in the first place.
Anyway...I was going through CNN.com, just killing some time, and thought I'd post a couple of stories that caught my eye, and it reminded me of that. So without further ado ( Current Events )
I'd say Happy Australia Day to any Australians on my flist, but it's already tomorrow there, so I'm too late.
