This is what I've been reduced to...

I'm at an "Internet Cafe" at, get this, a Burger King in Berlin, NJ, because despite my friend's best efforts, my home connection is still, well, not. We took the kids to the BK, and I couldn't resist checking my LJ because I'm that obsessed. And a brief glance at my flist is making me really sorry I don't have my Harry Potter book because the first 4 were all 'spoiler cut' and it's making me really dance with impatience.

My friend brought her copy, in case I wanted to start reading it while she worked on the computer. I read the first few pages. It made me think of my Tony Blair icon.

I have absolutely nothing else to say except, while still feeling cranky, I'm doing a bit better. Had some Earl Grey Tea this morning and that helped.

Well, good news and bad news

We now have internet. Slow, slow internet, but internet. However, our phone doesn't seem to want to work at the same time, so now, no phone. My friend thinks there is something amiss with the ethernet cable. But, if I have to choose between phone and internet, I'll take internet. I have a cell phone.

Meanwhile, the connection, while 'broadband', is dead slow, because there is something not right with this computer. We'll get it sorted one of these days, but at least we have access to the interweb.

And I read the first few pages of Half Blood Prince, so I know a few secrets, but not much. Will just have to wait impatiently patiently, avoid places like fanfiction.net and, probably, deleterius and hope everyone else remembers to put spoilers under cuts.

Remember when The Sixth Sense was all the rage and the twist was so big? Well, I was reading an article in Philadelphia Magazine, and they totally gave away the ending without a warning at all! The movie'd been out for awhile, but still...I enjoyed the movie when I saw it, but it would have been more interesting to be surprised.
