I'm going to be light and fluffy today. No sad things, no politics, nothing. I'm going to be in complete denial and only talk about silly and fun and irrelevant things. So there.

Charlie went to the beach yesterday with his babysitter. They had a lovely time - Charlie played in the waves with her boyfriend, and she fell asleep and got sunburnt on her back.

She asked me if we listened to oldies a lot, because on the drive back from the beach Charlie was singing along to Drift Away, and she was surprised he knew the lyrics. Apparently he was also singing along to The Beatles. And he really likes that song "Low Rider". So yes, I guess we do listen to 'oldies'. Though one person's oldies is another persons classic rock, thank you very much.

With his recent introduction to The Muppet Show Charlie is only going to increase his knowledge of 'oldies'. Currently one of his favorite songs is Paul Williams singing "Just an Old Fashioned Love Song". He gets up and dances along to it. I need to do a phone post* so you guys can hear Charlie singing that, because it is adorable.

Blackadder Goes Forth was on BBC America yesterday evening, so I watched it. It it is amusing to see a younger Hugh Laurie acting like a twit. He has aged amazingly well. I really hope some day the people who create House manage to get Rowan Atkinson to guest star. And wossaname who played Baldrick. Because that would be fun. Maybe Richard Curtis could write the episode, and it would be old home week on House. (Oh - pun! Sort of.)

*And how exactly do I do that? It says to enter my 'pin' but I don't know what my pin is. Has anyone does this - is it complicated? Come on, I listen to oldies, I'm not up on this newfangled technology.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show was just on one of the free movie channels. (Which is a bit sad, really.)

I discovered it is impossible to watch that show and not automatically shout out things I didn't even realise I still remembered.* (Next Vendsday, ven else? Turn to the wall and talk like a Jewish Mother. Yes Janet, Brad smokes.)

First time I saw Rocky Horror was Halloween Weekend my sophmore year of High School. Went many a time after that. Not as many as some, of course, but it is in the double digits. I really enjoyed the whole experience. The shouting, and the dancing and the throwing of things and the water pistols.

Good times.

*My husband, God bless him, never saw Rocky Horror, and kept giving me funny looks. He actually had to ask me how the movie ended. He kept looking at me funny too. Hey it's not my fault he had a deprived youth.

*wanders off to bed wondering vaguely about Rocky Horror Icons. They must be out there*
