Am at home this morning, waiting for the heater guy to come and fix my heater. Finally. Life being what it is, we'll probably have a heat wave the moment he leaves.

Yesterday, on [livejournal.com profile] slammerkinbabe's journal, I offered Trinny and Suzanne's advise about wearing black with color - makes the colour look tacky and the black look cheap, appearently. So naturally today I am wearing black pants with an orange sweater. It's sort of a burnt orange, not too bright. I did put a black sweater-jackety thing over it, so maybe that helps.

I really hate waiting for people. You can't get anything started because you're waiting, and you are on edge because you're waiting. Sigh.

Hopefully the next time I write I will have heat in my house. *fingers crossed*

I'm warm again! And it didn't cost nearly as much as I was afraid it was going to, so yay.

However, three minutes before the heater guy was finished, I got a call from the school telling me Charlie is sick. He has a cold and a slight fever, thanks, I'm sure, to the fact we had no heat for the last week. So, I picked him up, then went into work and did some stuff that needed doing and now I'm home. Today is one of the sitter's school days, so she wouldn't be able to come now even if I wanted her too, and I think today is the kind of day where Charlie just needs his mommy.

I did have to bring him into work, and he was very good. I am proud.

And I managed to lose a check my mother sent me. I hope it fell out of my purse at work, because I can't find it anywhere. Grr.

Am hungry now, so am going to feed they young'un and myself.

This is a really boring entry. Must think of things to say you actually want to talk about, yes?

I was watching this show last night called Freddie, starring Mr Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Junior and the guy who was David on Beverly Hills 90210. On the Comcast Digital Cable description, it said that Freddie took his niece to see a 'horror musical', and, whatever, hilarity ensued, it's a sitcom. Turns out, what they meant by 'horror musical' was 'Rocky Horror Picture Show'.

Well, I was a regular Frankie fan back in the day, and I was pleased to see it still has a sort of shelf-life, even if it is being regulated to Halloween themed 30 minute sitcoms.

So...poll... )

I so need a Rocky Horror icon.

Charlie's school had a little festival tonight - food, games, face painting. It was held in the school's miniscule 'all purpose room' and when I say it was noisy that doesn't even begin to cover the audio assult that was this party. That kind of chaotic noise is not good for Charlie, it sort of short-circuts his head. He held his own though, even if he did start pulling his 'Human Torch' hat over his head. He and his friend Devon were the only ones in costume, though, which I thought was odd. What's the point of a Halloween party if you don't wear costumes. Okay, candy is a point, but still..

While Charlie was in line for one of this games this cute little girl with long brown hair smiled at Charlie and said 'hello, Charlie,' in a tone of voice that, were she a few years older, I would consider a bit flirty.

I can't take a decent night photo with my digital camera because it takes forever to do a flash photo, and I shake too much and can't seem to keep the camera still. So, this is the best I could do.
