And so it goes
Dec. 7th, 2005 09:06 amSo now we are getting all the email notifications we haven't gotten over the last couple of weeks. Fun.
Day three, and I have an appointment with an employment agency that I'm not looking forward to. They are going to make me take a typing test and all that stuff I'd hoped I'd finally put behind me. Still, it must be done.
I confess, if it weren't for the financial worry, I'd be very happy right now. I enjoyed cleaning the house yesterday, doing all the things I tend to put off because who wants to be scrubbing a tub on a Saturday when one could be with friends and family? I enjoyed getting dinner ready, and having it on the table just as the husband came through the door. I enjoyed watching Charlie and his friend play outside, making them an after-school snack, and yelling out the door that they weren't to play in the front yard.*
In short, I rather like being a housewife.
I have taken the advice of several people and have gone onto Idealist.org and craigslist.org. I found several 'looking for freelance writer' things on craigslist, and am also now harboring the fantasy that I can do that part-time work and freelance stuff, and that would be enough to sustain us.
Of course, I am one of probably a million people who've responded to those free-lance adds, so my hopes aren't too high. It would be nice, though.
So, I soldier on, and try not to worry too much about what tomorrow will bring. Right? Right.
