Happy Birthday to my Daddy
May. 15th, 2006 10:50 amI called this morning and left a message, and then Charlie added his own birthday wishes ending, in an incredulous voice, "Sixty-six years old!!" which I am sure my father appreciated.
Mother's Day, for those who care, was nice. We took a chance and went to the new Cuban resturant to see if there was any room for us for brunch and luckily someone had 'no-showed' so we got a table. Granted it was on the porch rather far from the lovely heaters they had installed, and since yesterday wasn't the Camelot-weather one would hope for Mother's Day, it wasn't always the most comfortable place, but the food was excellent and they gave me a carnation at the end, fascinating Charlie to no end. He mentioned it several times.
We (well I) broke down and re-suscribed for Digital Cable, since they're running a special, and we have four billion channels again, and "On-Demand" now has a Karoke feature that we played with. (see previous post) I enjoy that feature quite a bit.
Had my first 'rehersal' for the 12th night scene we're doing at the Mayfair and somehow I wound up being Olivia. No matter what, I can never seem to escape being the 'girl' when doing a play. Granted the other character, Viola is a girl, but in this scene she has the more interesting lines. Oh well, acting is acting, right? And I get to wear a pretty dress.
Back to work. Hope everyone is having a nice day. And my New England friends aren't being flooded out.
