Charlie burst into our room at around 5am this morning shouting, "Mommy! Where's the cat?" in a terrified voice. Apparently the thunderstorm woke him and in his current obsession over the well-being of the cat was sure poor Butch was out in the rain somewhere.

I let Charlie crawl into our bed, and muttered something about Butch being fine and downstairs somewhere even while I wasn't 100% sure the cat didn't get out, as the Husband lets him out at night usually. Fortunately Charlie's fears were calmed a few minutes later by the appearance of the cat in question who decided that since we were up it must be breakfast time, and proceeded to jump on the bed and meow. A lot.

Charlie has never been afraid of storms before, but this one freaked him out, and he never did fall back to sleep so, consequently, neither did I. Sigh.

So then, while I was trying in vain to get back to sleep I started thinking of New Jersey's slogan problem - apparently after a big contest the winner, "We'll Win You Over" has been used by other states, and is no good. So I was trying to think of a slogan and came up with "More than the Shore" which, in my sleepy state, I first thought was freaking brilliant, but then decided it probably wasn't. What do you think? Should I send it to the Governor?

And, randomly, this is a picture of me that Charlie took in the car the other day:
