Charlie made a water xylophone using 8 glasses filled with varying levels of water. He is very proud of it, and, being him, has already figured out how to play recognizable tunes on it.

My 14 year old neighbor is out in her garage practising her drums. She's actually quite good, and very dedicated, but I can't help but think of the Brady Bunch episode where Bobby tried to learn the drums. Apparently Mr and Mrs Brady didn't think it was worth investing in lessons for the boy, so he just banged on the drums with, as the ancients said, hilarious results.

My friend gave me a Corrs CD, since she'd bought two accidentally. They're good. I'd heard them before, a bit, but hadn't really formed an opinion, but I must say I like them.

I'm finally reading Slammerkin* by Emma Donoghue. It is really good, although it is obvious it isn't going to have a fairy tale ending. Nonetheless, it is one of those books that really get into one's head.

Charlie has been rather fascinated with the moon lately, and tonight, as he'd been telling anyone who would listen, is a full moon.

Unfortunately, due to the rather large trees in the area, it was hard to find where the moon was positioned in the sky, so, after taking a couple of walks around the block in search of the moon, I suggested Charlie go up into 'Daddy's Attic' to see if he'd be able to spot the moon above the trees.

He goes in, I am still outside, chatting to my neighbor and enjoying the cool night air, when Charlie comes bursting out of the front door, full of excitement.

"Mommy! The moon! The moon is in the attic!"
