ETA here's the listing for the house

Yesterday we drove by our old house and saw that they are having an open house this weekend, which obviously means the house is finished.

I'm torn between wanting to see what it looks like and not wanting to go in there for reasons that I can't completely define. Too much of a 'what could have been' moment, perhaps, or just basic jealousy.

Coincidentally, my lawyer filed my divorce papers this week. I say 'coincidentally' because it seems like both incidents are the full stop on my past life, and it is officially over.

And I'm not sure how I feel. I think I feel a bit sad, but then I'm not sad, really. Bittersweet, I suppose.

But...like ee cumming once wrote, endings are just beginnings with their hats on.

Yesterday I was talking to my company's travel agent, and, just to torture myself, asked about packages to the UK.

The nice lady looked into it and found a deal that includes a 6 night stay (6th night free) in a 3 star hotel in Kensington and round trip airfare for Charlie and me for $2,842. And it includes an English breakfast.

That's pretty darn good.

Still it is money I know I shouldn't spend.

But I didn't tell her no yet.

I said I had to think about it.

I am pathetic y/y?
