Once again, the whining was all for naught*, as people did show up last night and we had a lovely time. I have such stress when I host things, I don't know why. I enjoy doing it, but I'm always convinced no one is going to come. Must be left over self-esteem problems or something.

I was rather proud of the way my dining room table looked - everything matched quite prettily. I'm not usually good at that sort of thing.

Later I must do a voice post of Charlie singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, because it is cute.

And in other news, I'm going to this place called Source 4 Teachers where they apparently train people up to be substutite teachers or something. Will let you know.

*which I don't think anyone saw because I accidently private locked it.

Yay for successful hostessing! I'm glad it went well for you (down to the matching of the dining room table stuffs), even if we didn't see the whining entry. :) Yay for you!

I have major, "NO ONE IS GONNA COME!!!" anxiety. I didn't have many friends when I was a kid so I get freaked when I host anything.

I had a baby shower hosted by my mom when I was pregnant and it was packed with family. Some girls at my work wanted to throw another one for me later and I told them not to -- just to come to the other one but they insisted, and all of four people came. There was so much food. I was mortified.

Glad it worked out for you last night. You said it was a book club? What book did you/are you read(ing)?

Glad of your success hosting a meeting, and because I didn't reply to the previous mention: This whole substitute teacher sounds like fun. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you (plus "hey, it's not office management job!")

I think you will be such a fantastic substitute teacher. What grades are you looking at? Really, I think this sounds wonderful.
