Stupid bloody stupid flights.
Long story short I had to book a flight for a co-worker from Tampa to Minneapolis, and I'd sent her the flight info and told her to please verify and then she was all 'I need to check blah blah blah' and then my boss John told her to tell me to book it, and she still didn't get back to me, and the fare was increasing because it's for the 7th, so I booked it this morning, and then she emails me that she wants to leave from Orlando instead. Why she couldn't have told me this earlier, I don't know, but there you go. So fine, I go to expedia, make the change, but for some reason I have to talk to someone directly, so I do. We go through the whole thing - mind you, I'd done this on line - and no less than three times did I tell her that the return flight should be the 16th, because she said 'the 12th' and every time she read it to me, I said 'The 16th, right?' and she said yes.
I check the reservation five minutes later, and it's the 12th. I call back and am told that it is documented that she 'read it back to me' and therefore they can't do anything without costing me more money. I point out the above, that I corrected her every single time but there's nothing they can do. So I'm still on hold trying desperately to get the freaking proper departure freaking date and it is going to cost too much money and it is so frustrating.
I cried at the nice lady who is currently helping me because it is going to make me look bad, and I don't need this. If people would just tell me things in a timly manner, but no...scheduling in my company is really hard, but I need to get things booked on time. Arugh.
I'm very upset right now.

on 2006-04-29 08:07 pm (UTC)If you are worried about what others might judge you as - my strong suggestion is to in future deal by email with the person who messed you about. Email is a good piece of evidence that you dealt promptly and on time. Email also cannot have dates forged on it, so if a complaint arises, the email record will bear out your story.
In addition, in future if dealing with this rude idiot, keep a noted record of all that transpires.
Finally, speak to your boss about it if you feel that would help.

on 2006-04-29 08:13 pm (UTC)The phone thing makes me angry. I work on phones all day long and, as a general rule, it is not that hard to listen to people when they are telling you what they want.

Which is of course the blame of your co-worker
