Last night I was watching an episode of Star Trek, the one where Worf gets hurt and they do this risky surgery to fix his spinal cord. So, they're starting the operation with the special laser thingies and Charlie says, "I can't look!" and a second later he adds, "Is this House?"

I don't know why, but it made me laugh a lot.

He seems recovered from his meltdown yesterday, and is processing the whole thing. I think the problem was I wasn't there, and that, combined with his disappointment at gettiing tagged out just set him over the edge. If I was nearby, at least, he may have been able to calm himself down, but I kept saying I had to get back to the stupid snack bar.

My biggest worry is the team now is going to think he's a complete spazz. I guess we'll have to see.

Oh, in other news...my iPod went off again. I thought maybe it just gets jiggled against things in my purse, and that loosens the switch that is supposed to keep the dial from working, but today I had it just sitting on my table and all of the sudden it went off. It is very strange.

No one commented on my snakes on a plane post. How sad and tragic. Must be the devil's fault.

Worf as House. Hmmm....

Personally, I'm waiting to see how the snakes shake out...after all, the story could turn out to be a hoax.

I'd like to a House/STNG crossover now. Poor Charlie, though.

With Charlie, it sounds like he is using you for his locus of control, I think that is the term. When he has events that overwhelm him, he looks to you to be able to hold it all together. My younger daughter has some anxiety issues and this has seemed to be the deal alot of the time, so I work to make myself available. The catch is that they are able to do that for themselves as they get older, so they can make it on their own. My older daughter just did her first year of college thing and found that there were many things that she just didn't have the skills for on her own. It also convinced her that what she always took for slightly Aspergerish traits may be more than we had considered, she's been in the process of seeking counseling to work on a diagnosis and help. All through the years the doctors would just credit her oddities in functioning to the fact that she is highly gifted. Good luck on finding abalence in it all.

As too the possessed Ipod, that is just too funny-have you figured out who is possessing it yet?

That's for that. "Locus of Control" sounds exactly right. That makes me feel better.

I think it is great your daughter is doing what she is doing. Lots of so-called regular kids would just give up and go home.

As for the iPod, I don't know but whoever it is seems to like female artists! Every time it goes off it is Pat Benatar or KT Turnstall or Blondie!
