Today was the Special Needs Group family picnic. I was getting stuff ready to take, and I walked into the kitchen to find charlie with a big pile of Lebanon Bologna sandwiches that he was putting into plastic bags.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"Making sandwiches," he replied.

"What for?"

"The picnic!"

"Who are they for, Charlie?"

He looked at me like I was being kind of slow and said, "Everybody!"

I pointed out that there was going to be hot dogs and things at the picnic, but he was not deterred. He was bringing sandwiches. It was on his checklist. There were other things on the checklist as well so we also brought the following:

Bananas
Pears
Oranges
Grapes
Blueberries
Red Cabbage

I didn't put the cabbage out.

Here's a photo of me reading to the kiddies:

I'd posted something on [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes and they deleted it because I'd broken rule 9 and took too long to set up the quote. I appreciate the fact I'd inadvertently broken a rule - I should've have checked them first, so they had to, but it still hurt my feelings, which is just pathetic, isn't it?

Awww. What a sweet kid. I heart Charlie.

And what was the quote?

Here it is - some people replied before it got deleted, so I had a copy! :)

So, over on [livejournal.com profile] mock_the_stupid, someone posted this story about someone who didn't know who Shakespeare was. As expected this drew lots of comments and one person who was pointing out that Romeo and Juliet was mandatory in their school accidently wrote R&G instead of R&J. They corrected themselves quickly, of course, leading [livejournal.com profile] pewter_alyssum to make this brilliant comment:

Because I don't think Romeo and Gerald would've gone over well with the Victorian set. "They be FRIENDS, I swear it! Very goodly friends. Who partake of friendly, brotherly kisses. And attempt to marry for a lark.
