Because I know all the people on my friend's list couldn't sleep last night wondering how Charlie's birthday went, I'll tell you.

There were 5 children including Charlie, which was a good size, I think. They were all amazingly well behaved, too. They played together nicely with nary a fight between them. The theme of the party was Spiderman. Charlie rarely asks for anything specific like that, and when he asked for a 'Spiderman cake' I think I went just a bit overboard. We had Spidy napkins, plates, table cloth and party bags. I got a Spiderman pinata and a Spiderman pin-the-tail on the donkey game. (er, only it was pin-the-spiderman-symbol on Spiderman's chest game)

The games lasted a total of about .8 seconds each, I think, but it was a nice day, so they played happily outside. There were burgers, hot dogs and chicken nuggets shaped like dinosaurs for lunch, as well as chips and pretzels and popccorn. In other words, way too much food! The Spiderman cake with the candle shaped like a 7 was a big hit.

Charlie got some nice gifts, including a Spiderman lego kit that has about fifty-million pieces in it. We got him a CD walkman. ($12.95 at Target) Still amazes me those things can run so cheaply.

My two best friends were among the grown up guests (their children making up the bulk of the party) and they stayed through the afternoon. We had a nice time sitting outside and drinking wine. For some bizare reason all three of us were wearing pink shirts. We thought we looked like some kind of sorority or something!

It was a nice afternoon, and I took Charlie to Pizza Hut for his free birthday pizza for dinner.

And now my baby is 7 years old, I have too much food left over, and way too many mylar balloons floating around my living room!

It was a good day.

Sounds like a great day! If I didn't live so far away, I'd come help eat some of the food. ;) You must feel like you are at the Democratic convention, with all those balloons. ;) Except they aren't on the floor! And mylar balloons last a looooooong time. lol
