And there was much rejoicing

I got the job I wanted!
I got the call this morning, and after dancing up and down like an idiot in the hallway, I went to my old boss and told him to take this job and shove it, I'm outta here! Actually, I didn't. I told him quite politely that I got a new job and they wanted me to start immediately. Which is true. I'm supposed to start Monday but so far two people have asked if maybe I could start tomorrow. So we'll see. I also politely thanked him for giving me the opportunity to leave with dignity.
So, hurrah! Divers Alaurms. Break out the Morris Dancers, let's do the Stick and Bucket dance because I think I am finally in a position I can actually do. No more administrative assistant. I'm a Marketing Coordinator.
If all goes well, I'll have even less time to play on LJ, but I'll work something out.

on 2004-10-14 03:32 pm (UTC)There's a candy store in my town that is selling gum shaped like cigars, and one is blue, and has Bush's face on it and one is pink with Kerry's. The Kerry ones were sold out! So go my town!
And Charlie is so brainwashed, when he sees John Kerry on TV he gets all excited. "Look mom! John Kerry!" It is very cute.

on 2004-10-14 03:45 pm (UTC)It's cute you tell that story about Charlie.
A lady I work with told me her son had to do a project in school by choosing one of the candidates from any race. He chose JK. The lady, Shelly, is not terribly political but has become more interested since talking to me and our nut boss! lol
Anyway, she asked her son why he chose Kerry and he told her he had heard good things about him. So apparently he's picked up stuff from her and probably at school, which means that kids are talking about him, which means their parents must like him!
