WAAAAAANNNNNNT! Does anyone know if British CDs work in American equipment? I realise this may be a stupid quesiton, but the DVDs don't, so I had to ask. Don't want to plonk down money for something I can't use. I really must own this soundtrack.

1981 is so my era. It was the beginning of so many things for me. High School, for one. Finding myeslf, with much help from MTV and British pop.

And, of course, Olivia Newton John.

No, seriously. Back in 1981 she released Physical, totally reinventing her image of squeaky clean country pop singer. Suddenly she was this buffed up hottie in a headband singing a song about shagging someone, and I thought, hey. I can do that. Well, not the shagging song, maybe, but I could reinvent myself. I did, and I found a measure of happiness in school and my self-esteem I didn't have before, and I credit Olivia. Then Mtv happened, and suddenly there was Pat Benatar, and Adam and the Ants, and Duran Duran and hot British guys I'd never heard of and people in freaky make up and I found my niche.

My Anglophelia burst into full bloom around then, too. Had photos of Prince Charles and Princess Diana on my wall.
