A weekend full of wasted time

charliesmumI got next to nothing done this weekend. Chalk it up to this very bad cold I have that doesn't seem to want to go away, and just general ennui. Maybe I just needed to slow down a bit after my first full week in my new job.
It is really interesting to be working in an office full of geologists, and hydrogeologists, and chemists, and civil engineers and one guy who is an orinthologist and worked with Exxon for 10 years, starting, thanks to the Exxon Valdez covering all the birds and things with oil back when.
Yesterday Charlie was shouting "Kerry! Kerrykerrykerrykerrykerry! John Kerry" every time he saw a Kerry lawn sign. He was sort of imitating Bubbles from Finding Nemo who did the same thing only using the word 'bubble' instead of Kerry. Charlie would finish up by saying "I like John Kerry." I'm training him up to be a Democrat. Wonder if he'll pull an Alex P. Keaton on me and go conservative as he gets older.

electiondebate last night, and the actual hostility between members of both parties is very sad, when you stop to think of it. After all, we all want what is best for the country, we just approach it from different points of view. What is with this constant need to demonize the other party? But whatever. That's the nature of the beast, I suppose.
