You know, Richard Gere never really did anything for me. I mean, yeah, he's handsome, and I like that he's Buddhist, but other than that, meh. Then my friend and I went tonight to see Shall We Dance. GREAT movie. Everything I love about a movie, redemption, redescovery, love, happy endings and ballroom dancing. And now I'm fangirling Richard Gere. He was just so darned cute in this movie.

And I can't sleep, which is why I'm here. And I was checking out some comments on a post I'd left on [livejournal.com profile] electiondebate and there is this guy there who seems to absolutely hate me for some reason. Every thing I've written that he's responded to, he's responded to with venom. I don't know why. I must not be expressing myself very well. Or he just really likes picking arguments with people. There are people like that in the world. They aren't happy unless they're butting heads with someone. It's weird though. I like to think I'm a nice person. Waa! Some random stranger doesn't like me. Whatever shall I do?

I'm still trying to think of a good Halloween story. Being up at 1am ish on Halloween morning ought to bring something to mind, yes?

Not so much.

I did write a poem for my sister's wedding. First draft. I posted it on [livejournal.com profile] writer_girls if anyone cares.

Right. Really need to get some sleep. Trick or Treating tomorrow! Hurrah!

You want a scary story? Arnold Shwartzenager for President.

That is scary.

Not as scary as Bush for president, though! :)

Actually I think it's scarrier because they'd have to pass a constitutional ammendment that allows American citizens who weren't born here the right to run for president, which I think could lead to a lot of trouble down the line.

You mean thep0stman? They're a wee bit aggressive, aren't they. I think they like to pick arguments, seeing as I got what you were saying. And that means a lot, cuz I don't tend to understand politcs-type stuff. Bush is a Republican, right? It gets v confuzzling sometimes ... meh.

Yep. That's who I mean.

Yeah, Bush is a Republican, a party that tends to be more conservative. Then there's the Democrats who tend to be less conservative. Democrats tend to focus more on social reforms, and republicans focus more on the economy, I think.

I never could figure the British system out, even though I want to. There's Labor, right, which is probably more like Democrats, and then there's Tory, but I don't know if they are more conservative. Politics are confusing.

The Tory party isn't their real name - it's a nickname given to them by Queen Anne (Stuart reigned 1702-1714) 'tory' means robber in Irish gaelic. The proper party name is the Conservative Party. lol. Then there's Labour with dearest Tony at the top, and then there's also the Liberal Democrats who were given the nickname of whigs by the same lovely queen. 'Whig' means scottish sheep-stealer. Labour never got a nickname, cuz it didn't exist back then. And it is more Democrat-like.
Thus endeth the paragraph of entirely useless information.

See? Things I didn't know that I'm glad to know now. Guess Queen Anne wasn't all that fond of politicians, huh.

Happy Halloween, by the way! I'm about to go dress Charlie as Spiderman.

I ended up in a similar situation at the first message board i ever frequented. Everything i posted, she jumped on. On one memorable occasion, there had been a rather nasty disussion about an actress' weight and i had kind of weighed in - and she turned around and told me there wasn't any discussion about said actress. The HELL? There was like ten posts on it!

In the end, i snapped and left a long ranting post at her that made me look like an immature brat. It taught me a valuable lesson about *not* acting like a wangsting drama queen.

You're really better off just ignoring his posts. He'll soon get bored. Asshats are not worth responding too.

I must not be expressing myself very well.

From everything of yours I've read, I doubt that. Some people are just venemous because they have nothing better to do with their time.

I don't begrudge you your enjoyment of the movie, but please, please get the original Japanese version and watch it. It's one of my all-time favorites.

Hi, I'm a random girl that saw a comment you made on the [livejournal.com profile] johnxjohn community. You seem like an amazing person, so I hope you don't mind if I add you to my friends list. ^^

This post caught my attention because of the mention of Richard Gere. I absolutely LOVE him! Girls my age (I'm almost 18) don't seem to feel the same way, though... poop. :( But did you see him on Biography a few weeks ago? He's amazing! His views on the world are wonderful.

Anyway, nice meeting you. :)

Well, nice meeting you, too. I'm not amazing, really, but it's nice you think so!

Friending you back. We democrats need to stick together! Now more than ever! :)

Yeah, Richard Gere is an interesting guy. I like that he's Buddhist.
