Slightly political musings...sorry

I'm sure many of you have already seen www.sorryeverybody.com, Oddly compelling, isn't it?
There is something striking about the format - just words, ala LJ or similar, wouldn't convey the same dramatic flair the photographs and drawings do. I suppose actually seeing the people (and or their dogs, which seems to be the biggest trend) makes it more real. It also really brings home how truly divided we as a country are. Somehow we've really managed to turn into 'blue states vs red states' in our national conscienceness. And the fact that so many people feel the need to apologise to the rest of the world is interesting, too. I feel like we're skirting a huge abyss, and hoping like hell we don't fall in.
Anyway...
The other thing that's going around LJ is the 'post a cute, non political photo' thing, so I'm going to do that.

My friend got engaged. She met him through work about a year ago, right as she was finalizing her divorce. So, here's to second chances for Jack and Beth. I approve if only because he is the only other 'live' person I met who knew what Sparkly-poo was. Got to love a 40-something man who loves Harry Potter, right?

Her being the fanfiction writer, or 'suethor' who created her. Go to
