It's snowing!

It's always my inner child that gets the first word when it starts to snow. She jumps around gleefully, hoping it will snow so much that all normal life will be suspended and instead of going to school she'll be playing outside, making futile attempts at a snowman and building a fort that, in her imagination looks much like the igloo she made out of sugar cubes for a school project but in reality is just a hollow of snow that falls in the second a body gets too close.

Then of course my grown up looks out the window, frowns at the thought of having to stand outside in the cold scraping the snow from the car and worrying about how bad the traffic will be on the way home.

Then the mommy in me smiles at the thought of how happy the snow will make Charlie, since he's been wanting snow since the first offical day of winter. She pictures taking him to a hill so he could try out his new sled, and this image helps reconcile the inner child with the inner grown up and we all take a moment to smile at the snow.

Am jealous... It did start raining here, so I guess we're pretty much even now :)
