So, I was googling for something work related, and I stumbled across this web site that had pictures of old postcards from Camden county, and one section had old car dealership postcards, the kind they would give out when they moved, or had a sale or something. Sure enough, there was a photo of the dealership my grandfather owned. It's here, if any one wants to see. Garden State Motors

There's a new costume shop just opened up in my little town, and I decided to stop there tonight to get a costume for Sunday. For me. The grown ups are dressing this year! Anyway, I go into the shop, and I'm looking around, and the man behind the counter says, "You look familiar." So I'm thinking maybe its because he saw me in the play I was in last year, and I turn around to say so when he adds, "Were you one of my students?" Turns out it is my high school drama teacher, who I actually knew through junior high because he also taught the "Cherry Hill Recreation Program" that I was in. I couldn't believe he recognized me. I don't think he remembered my name, but he recognized me as a former student, so that's nice.

I proceeded to spend WAY too much money renting a costume, but it is SO pretty. When I asked Charlie what I should be for Halloween, he said "A queen." So I told the nice sales girl that I was looking for a queen type thing, and she brings out two dresses, one of which was a beautiful empire waste deep red velvet thing that looks like Juliet would have worn. I tried it on, and Charlie threw his arms around me and said, "Oh Mommy! You look beautiful!" and who am I to resist that? Besides, I really like the idea of going Juliet. I am going to wear the long wig I have from the play, and it is going to be fun. Expensive, but hey, it's Halloween!

Then we go to the McDonalds, and I bump into this woman who used to baby sit Charlie when he was just a tiny infant. So that was weird, too.

I was trying to think of a fictional scary story that I could make up, but I don't know how good I am at those. I'm wondering...what scares you, really? I personally don't find slasher stories scary so much as gross, I don't like being scared of other people, that hits too close to home. Give me a good old 'footsteps in an empty corridor' kind of story any day. But what about you guys? What scares you?

And finally, I know I should root for the Eagles this Sunday, but it seems poetically just that a team named after an Egar Allan Poem should win on Halloween.
