I don't think I realised how addicted I'd become to LJ until this weekend, when I was unable, due to an ongoing problem with our telephone, to log on. I seriously considered taking my work laptop to a Starbucks or somewhere that had wireless access just so I could go to LJ. And our phone is still broken, so now I am reduced to checking in the odd moments of quiet at work.
Anyway. Joan of Arcadia made me cry like an idiot on Friday. This is a show that manages to base the entire premise around someone talking to God, and yet they manage to keep it free of the general smaltzyness of shows like Touched by an Angel and the like. There'd been episodes where I'd gotten tears in my eyes at the end, but this one I was almost sobbing.
Joan's friend Judith died. I totally didn't see that coming. I figured Judith would be the person Joan would be working to help this season, much like Adam was last year. When they didn't kill Judith off in the episode where she drank too much vodka (or whatever it was) I figured she was safe. But noooooooo. She gets stabbed and later dies in the hospital after making Joan juggle for her. (she was teaching Joan to juggle as a physic's assignment) It was heartrending. It really was. I admit I'm as sentimental as they come, but crikey, this was sad. And Joan and Adam had their first real date to a fancy resturant.
Stupid show, making me cry.
And now....Cute Charlie Photos!

Would be a more cheerful photo if we'd actually won.
