Trivial things

I was going to write about the death of that football person, Tillman who was apparently killed by so-called Friendly Fire.
Then I was going write about how there was that apparent
terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia and George Bush said that shows 'terrorists are on the move' and doesn't seem to find anything wrong with saying that in light of the fact he is on record as saying the world was safe from terrorism since he authorized the attack on Iraq.
Then I was going to talk about this guy in
electiondebate who basically said that the best way to stop the insurgents in Iraq is just keep killing people until the surviving people are too afraid to join the insurgents, and that ultimately we will get oil and that will get more money so we can cure AIDS and stuff, so the death of thousands of innocent people is okay in the long run.
But you know what? That's depressing, and I don't feel like being depressing so I'm going to talk about stupid things.
I was watching a bit of a Charmed rerun and I was thinking that, while it's nice that there are still a few shows that rely on story-telling and imagination instead of people being stupid for money or fame, it is a shame Charmed seems to rely on using plots that we've already seen in better shows. The show that was on today was some demon or something Pheobe was in love with, which made me think 'like Angel on Buffy' and then she pretended to kill him when she really didn't which made me think of Gabrielle not killing Hope on Xena. Which explains why I never watched Charmed.
I wish there were more holiday shows on television. I used to really like watching the holiday specials when I was a kid. Charlie doesn't seem to care. I can't even get him interested in A Year without a Santa Claus which has the Snowmiser and the Heatmiser in it. Best songs ever.
Apparently Orlando Bloom is a Buddhist now. Good for him.
Oh! We decorated our tree yesterday. My friend came over with her two kids and we did the tree and had dinner, and it was fun. It looks very pretty. I don't usually do it this early, but I'm in Las Vegas next weekend for my sister's wedding, and the weekend after that just seemed too late. I like to have time to enjoy my tree.
And that's about it for me.
