charliesmumRadio went off this morning, and the news was being read. The first thing I heard was that it was officially announced that Michael Smith, 24, of Media PA was killed when a mortar hit the Humvee in which he was travelling. It was an odd little coincidence, one, because, thanks to LJ, I felt like 'hey, I know that guy', and two, because once again the internet has beaten regular media to the punch. And three, it was strange that it was the first thing I heard when I woke up this morning.
