I have the biggest crush on Ray Nagin right now. I know that sounds totally flippant, but
carlanime can back me up on this. I just love how he yelled at the Feds. He is articulate even in his anguish, and he wasn't worried about spinning things or even about getting people angry at him. He was upset and he wanted answers. And, come on, he's really rather handsome don't you think?
Also, I'm really enjoying CNN.com's coverage of this whole thing. It the linked article it says (See video of CNN asking why FEMA is clueless about conditions). Pretty straightforward, that.
Anyway...
There is something wrong with Charlie's hamster. His bum (or something) seems swollen. I wonder if he got bitten by a misquito - there was one flying around the house. He seems lively enough, but I don't know what to do. I shouldn't have pets.
I used 'blow this for a game of soldiers' on a comment on a community today, and someone asked me what it meant and where it was from. After being totally thrilled that once again someone mistook my pretentiousness for actual Britishness, I told him what it meant (and hopefully I was correct), but I've no idea what's its origins are. Does anyone know?
I used to wonder about soap operas - the people in them would be going through some enormous crisis, and yet still have time to get dressed up and put their pearls on. But I guess the truth is, life goes on, no matter what happens.
