Freaking stupid bloody world

I have to go into Charlie's school and talk with some person because Charlie said today, while on the bus, "I'm a gun and I'm going to shoot Mrs (Teacher)."
Why he said this I don't know. He doesn't ever play with toy guns, and I'm not sure where he got this particular idea. He was just playing, he said, when he was asked about this.
He can't ride the bus tomorrow, and like I said I have to go talk to someone to find out why he 'threatened' the teacher. Which he didn't even do. A threat has to be an actual threat. Saying "I'm a gun" isn't a threat any more than saying "I'm a teacup" means you're serving someone tea.
I understand the WHY of this. Can't be too careful and all that but come on. It seems to me they jump all over this sort of thing when it is extremely obvious that it isn't really a threat, when meanwhile kids with real problems fall right through the cracks.
Gah. I'm so annoyed and upset right now. Particularly because I am so anti-gun and I am so careful not to expose Charlie to that sort of thing. He doesn't even have any toy guns at all, and he never plays video games with guns.
