charliesmumFirst, happy Mother's Day to all the Mums on my flist.
Over the years, while I have gotten many a handmade gift from Charlie, thanks to day care and school projects, which I loved and cherished more than anything fancy or store-bought, but every year I wound up feeling a bit disappointed that You-Know-Who didn't think to take Charlie out and buy me something; not even a card. (I could site many examples of really bad Mother's Days, but I won't.)
This year, of course, it certainally not going to happen. However, my BFF and I had an inspired idea - we'd go to the mall, switch kids, and I'd help hers get a present, and she'd help mine.
My friend told me that Charlie thought of, and picked out, the present with absolutely no help from her.
It isn't my color, it isn't my style, it isn't the kind of purse I'd have ever picked out on my own, but it is the best purse I've ever had. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I've been saying for a while I need a summer purse. Charlie listened to things I said, and remembered, and got me something he thought I'd like.
Best. Kid. Ever.
