Okay, so this nice lad from Manchester pointed me in the direction of a hostel in London that is only $50 USD per night for a private twin room. They have free breakfast and cheap meals, too. Wow, thinks I, I could do that!

Emboldened, I looked up the prices of the plays I'd like to take Charlie too while there, namely Oliver and Hamlet*.

Bloody tickets are somewhere around £66.00 each, so that would be, well, quite a big hunk of American money. It's practically the same price as 5 nights in the hostel.

Right, I think. Soldier on. We can just do one play then. But which one? Charlie really loves the songs from Oliver, and Rowan Atkinson is in it, as is Burn Gorman, but I'd much rather see Hamlet, as, Tennant and Stewart aside, it is something I enjoy more than people singing cheery songs about child abuse. And Hamlet is more educational.

I did find a Panto in Essex that is only £16.50, and the whole point of going in December is to see a Panto, so that was cheery.

At any rate, this trip would still cost me about $2,000, (unless airfare gets really cheap sometime in the future) which is, well, money I shouldn't really spend, and upon thinking that I came heavily back to earth, rather like that bit in Mary Poppins when they have to think of something sad to come off the ceiling after the tea party.

*And yes, could they BE any more opposite?
