I had this idea last night. I've posted it to [livejournal.com profile] lost_tv, but thought I'd share for my friends who watch the show but aren't on that comm.

In the promos for next week, Claire screams 'she took my baby!' I figured 'she' is probably Danielle, who took the baby to protect him.

This led me to wonder, what Ethan took Claire to save her baby, not harm him?

And...what if Charlie, like Locke, is really working for the island? He, like Locke, was given something by the island - Locke his legs, Charlie, freedom from his addiction. And his guitar.

What do you think?

I can definitely see Danielle taking the baby to protect him, but it's a little harder seeing Ethan having done it to protect Claire since he did it in such an aggressive, violent way. But then Danielle hasn't exactly been gentle in her ways either, I guess. So, yeah, I could see that being the case with Danielle and Ethan.

But as far as Charlie 'working with' the island, that I'm not so sure of. He just doesn't seem - and this is for lack of a better word - smart enough for it. Charlie's really rather a simple stoner rocker, I don't know if he'd have enough understanding (or whatever) to be working with the island. And really, it was Locke that helped him with getting off the drugs and finding his guitar.

Have you heard that another cast member will die next week? I was popping around the ABC boards last nite and saw where a couple people said someone from the raft is going to die. They seemed to be speculating it would be Jin - it better not be Sawyer! I'd almost rather see Michael die than the other two, I've just never been able to like his character. It would be sad to leave Walt without any parents, but that kid is pretty wise and mature for his age, he'd probably be okay eventually.

I will cry so hard if Jin dies! Especially after last night!!!!! JIN CAN'T DIE. And actually, if Michael were to die, Locke could become a father figure to Walt! That would be cool, actually!

I didn't catch the promo, but I can see Danielle doing that.

I don't think Charlie is working for the island. The island didn't give him anything - except Locke, who made him get over his addiction and found his guitar. Also, Locke getting the use of his legs back was miraculous, whereas Charlie getting over his addiction was just plain hard work.

So, why do you think Locke started losing the use of his legs on the episode where he and Boone found that plane?

I think the island, or whatever it is, was telling him that he had to go find that plane (and basically give the island Boone) or he'd lose his ability to walk. That basically the island was saying 'I gave you your legs back, and I can take them away if you don't do as I tell you to do)

or something.

I did read somewhere that Dom aka Charlie said that Charlie was going be a darker character than her currently seems to be, and I wonder if he might be doing things but not realising it - like he's possesed or something.

Someone on TWoP had the same idea that Ethan was maybe trying to protect the baby. And I thought I was so original.

I don't think Ethan was trying to protect the baby. It's possible, but he seemed so malicious, I don't think so.

And besides, Ethan threatened to kill everybody one by one until he got to Charlie.

That's very interesting about Charlie...

I just can't believe that Boone was a sacrifice. I think Locke's loss of faith caused him to use the ability in his legs.

What about the fact that plane was filled with herion? Charlie might still find it.
