So, this life thing, where can I get one?

Please tell me I'm not the only human who finds American Idol terribly annoying. The whole manufactured superstar thing just bugs me. Where would music be if we depended on people like snarky Simon Cowell to tell us what was good? And why does it have to be so mean spirited? That's what's wrong with the world. A severe lack of compassion.
Like Granny Wetherwax said, the trouble starts when you start treating people like things.
And Gilmore Girls. (Yes, I watch Gilmore Girls. That and Joan of Arcadia are the only shows left on TV that I like, especially now that Angel is going bye-bye.)Pretty cool ending. SPOILERS in case you care and haven't watched it yet:
SPOILER!!! I've already ruined the surprise for one person, don't want to repeat the mistake!

Rory lost her innocence and they totally didn't build it up into a 'very special episode'. Took me by surprise, even. I guess I should have known from the promos, but the WB promos are so misleading, I don't pay attention to them anymore. And Luke and Lorali kissed. Now I suppose we'll have a relationship followed by the destruction of the relationship, then angsting about how things aren't the same anymore. Or something. Still. Luke...yum.
Okay. Here's a question people can answer, if you want - either to me or to yourself, I don't care.
What would you ask if you had the opportunity to ask only one question to the following people:
1. Former President Clinton
2. Current President Bush
3. Osama Bin Ladan
4. PM Tony Blair
5. HM the Queen Elizabeth
I was thinking about it because my sister recently had the opportunity to meet Bill Clinton, and she said she just shook his hand because she couldn't think of anything to say.
My questions would be as follows:
Clinton: Why did you lie instead of just saying it is none of anyone's business and has nothing to do with the running of the country?
Bush: What do you have against gay people. You dork.
Osama: What can we do to build an understanding between our two cultures so you stop hating us and trying to kill innocent people?
Blair: If you could start over again, and not support the war, would you?
QE2: Do you ever wonder what your life would have been like if your Uncle hadn't abdicated and your father hadn't had to become King of England?
Right. Once more into the breach. I have to get back to work now.

on 2004-07-18 06:04 pm (UTC)As for the questions I don't know what could be said except the obvious about Clinton (like you said it has nothing to do with being a president. besides, it's not a crime) and I don't think Osama would talk to me because I'm a woman (and thus inferior). As for Bush - well - I doubt he would be able to answer any question worth asking him.
