I saw this article saying the RSC has banned people bringing any Star Trek or Doctor Who stuff to Hamlet.

I totally understand that, but I can't help but think, 'um, you chose two actors who play hugely iconic characters; what did you expect? Throw in William Shatner as the gravedigger and you'd have Geek Nirvana.'

Oh, and Lucy Lawless as Ophelia. It would be hard not to be expecting her to sissor-kick Hamlet though.

Think Carrie Fisher could pull off Gertrude?

Have you all seen Doctor Horrible's Sing Along Blog yet? Because, seriously, it is fabulous. You can't get it for free now but it is only $3.99 on iTunes. Totally worth it. Trust me.

I've decided it would be totally awesomesauce if Russell T. Davis/Stephen Moffatt teamed up with Joss Wheadon and his crew to write a Doctor Who or Torchwood musical.

There must be a musical planet out there somewhere, right?

Here's another random photo from our holiday.

ETA: I'm an Aunt again! My sister had a baby girl this afternoon. 6 pounds 11 ounces. Name still unknown. (this is the sister who almost named her first daughter 'Clementine', so stay tuned...)

The funniest line in the most recent (and FANTASTIC) House: "I used to drive home drunk, but then some mothers got Mad-D".

Just thought I'd mention it.

I was, for some reason, thinking of this Pizza Hut commercial where a bunch of people think they are eating the pasta created by a top chef, when really they were eating pasta prepared by a chain resturant's cook, and they were all amazed at how good the pasta was.

Now, assuming the 'experiment' was true and not staged, I can't help but wonder if the people involved thought the pasta was OMG so because of fact they were in a swanky resturant, because Swanky Resturant + Swanky Chef must = Good Pasta. Expectation = reaction, as it were.

When I was in HS, we did this experiment where everyone gave wrong answers because they were all in on it except for one guy, to see if he would cave to popular opinion. He did at first, but he was really smart, and caught on rather quickly.

So what do you think? Is human nature that malleable?

Charlie finally met some Daleks, by the way - we watched Bad Wolf and Parting of the Ways. He wanted to see 9 turn into 10.

They mention 'Torchwood' in Bad Wolf, did you know that?

My sister is having her third child today. Soon I will know if I'm an aunt or an uncle again.

Now back to your regularly scheduled internet.
