Got this on one of the NaNo forum - True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country.-Kurt Vonnegut
Which I find amusing mostly because a member of my high school class is actually running for Assembly right now. Lou Greenwald.
He was in my English class one year. I vaguely remember him as a typical 'jock' type. Nice enough. Slightly pompus, as his mom was mayor or something at the time, but still a good guy.
I'm quite pleased with the new 'insert image' feature, er, featured on ElJay. Am posting this photo just because I can.

How's this for a headline? Cruise liner fends off pirate attack. Sure grabs the attention.
I was going to save this icon for when I'm mentioning something about Bush, but I like it and want to show it off. Thanks to a user called

on 2005-11-05 10:29 pm (UTC)But I remember David blowing off the English-Usage (exit) exam, because he thought no one read the essays. He dashed off a few pages of tripe, and was informed a few months later that not only would he not graduate, he would have to take an entire semester of Bonehead English in order to be eligible for December Graduation. I'll tell that one on him forever. He's a decent guy, and has a pretty good sense of humor; he also remembers the names of people who were in his college classes, even 15-19 years later!

on 2005-11-06 02:17 am (UTC)One of my classmates from HS became a Circuit Court Judge while he was still in his twenties. All I could think was, "I made a higher SAT score than he did..."
