My brush with fame 1983

When I was in High School I sang with a group of kids called "The Young Entertainers". We sang 'pop hits' and standards and whatall. One of the people I sang with was Calista Flockhart. Unusually for my family, we actually have a photograph of me singing, and I'm at my parent's house and got out the album and they have a scanner and...well, anyway...

Re: Do I know Calista?

on 2007-03-14 04:10 am (UTC)I found it remarkable how she never broke contact without saying good-bye. A lot of people I've met in person will just leave me talking to myself during a chat. She never did that - ever. She always behaved like a lady, even when she was being naughty.
She never acted like it was too much trouble to explain football terms like "RZ" to me; she didn't make fun of me for not knowing who James Gandolfini was, or that the Cincinatti Bengals played football - not baseball.
She always seemed to understand and humor my fascination with her (or Calista's) celebrity. She walked that fine line between privacy, which Calista holds sacred, and fame.
If only everone were as kind, considerate and responsible as her!
