Packing is not fun

charliesmumLast year I did a major clean of my house, and got rid of tons of stuff, and therefore thought to myself that packing to move won't be too hard - at least I'd cleaned out the closets, right?
Yeah, right.
It's amazing how many things a person can accumulate that you stop taking any notice of until it is time to do something with it. All these little knick-knacks and pictures and stuff stuffed in drawers. (and STBX isn't helping as he hasn't even started packing anything, but that's a different rant)
It's even harder as I am seriously downsizing, so I won't have that much room for stuff, and I am feeling like I want to start completely afresh, with all new everything, which makes me feel like chucking everything and not packing anything; this is, of course, simply not feasible.
So I keep getting out boxes, standing in the middle of the room, then wandering away because it is just very overwhelming.
I put an advert on Craigslist to sell a bunch of stuff, and I suppose we need to do a yard sale. So, if anyone in the vicinity wants any furniture or things, let me know! I have a pretty nice kitchen table with 3 chairs that I'll sell for cheap.
I'm a bit worried that my new home is less like a place one moves to and more like a place that one ends up, but I tell myself it will do for now, and it is just one step in the major sucess that will be the rest of my life. Right? Right.
